Three Ways to Get Involved

rearchIT.org can use your help! Please donate your computer, make a financial donation, or consider volunteering.

Donate Your Computer

Donated computers are critical to our mission and we readily accept computers, peripherals, and software. Your contribution may be tax deductible (see our FAQ). Often, donated computers can be made operable if missing critical components or parts are replaced, so we are always in need of computer components and peripherals.

Your privacy is guaranteed. Upon receipt of your computer, we erase the contents of the hard drives using DBAN and reformat the drives. If during the erase/reformatting process the hard drive fails, it is destroyed.

Financial Donation

Don't have a computer to donate? Still wish to help out? Consider making a financial donation. It's easy, fast, secure, and tax deductible. Your support will help us continue to bring technology to those who need it. Click the button to make a donation (you are not required to log into Paypal to make a donation).

  Volunteer

A 100% volunteer staff of high school students, college interns, and citizens in the community, refurbish and repair computers and organize inventory. Volunteers have the opportunity to give back to the community while learning from their peers and increasing their own technical expertise. Many volunteers start with a basic understanding of technology but through tutorials and group interactions quickly expand their skill-set not only in the technical field but also in communication and public service by interacting with a diverse client base.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, we could use your help with:

-- Refurbishing and repairing computers - it's a great way to improve your technical skills. No prior experience is required (however, it would be helpful).
-- PR and Marketing - if you are experienced and want to help us market our organization and community outreach, please contact us.
